Monsignor Preston Moss laid to rest

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Catholic community gathered yesterday at Saint Francis Xavier Cathedral to mourn the death of veteran priest Monsignor Preston Moss who served the church for more than 50 years.

Among the congregation were notable figures such as Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis, as well as former and present parliamentarians paying their last respects to the Catholic clergyman.

According to Catholic Archbishop Patrick Pinder, the late Monsignor Moss’s life was that of service throughout his calling.

He served as the director of the Antilles Pastoral Institute, National Director of Pontifical Aids Society, Chair of the Family Life Commission, Chaplain of the Senate, and Director of the Bank of the Bahamas and St. Augustine’s College Board.

For his national contributions, he was awarded the honour of commander of St. Michael and St. George by Queen Elizabeth II.
