Minister of Social Services and Urban Development Frankie Campbell.

Social Services Frankie Campbell responded to errors in the distribution of financial assistance from the welfare division on Robinson Road.

A number of Bahamians complained of a strained process when trying to get financial aid.

A major issue seemed to be connected to a stalled programme with the Bank of The Bahamas, which had a three-year contract to provide welfare recipients with a swipe card that would provide them with $180 monthly toward groceries.

Campbell admitted that while the system will never be perfect, he is working toward ensuring that there is some improvement.
