Shaunae Miller-Uibo will be the sole Bahamian representative at today’s International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) Diamond League stop in Rabat, Morocco.

Miller-Uibo will compete in the women’s 200-metres (m) out of lane six. The New Providence native comes in as the favorite in the race, followed by Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor, from Nigeria, who clocked a personal best of 22.04 seconds earlier this season.

As it stands, Miller-Uibo is eighth in the race for the Diamond League title with eight points. Despite trailing the leader, Salwa Eid Naser, from Berlin, by more than 20 points, Miller-Uibo could creep into contention with wins in London and Birmingham over the next few weeks. Miller-Uibo is also in first in the 400m standings with eight points.

Each athlete crowned IAAF Diamond League Champion wins $50,000 in prize money at the end of the season. With two finals, each staging 16 Diamond Disciplines, the total prize money awarded amounts to $1,600,000.
