Men’s 4×400 team/Thomas medal at NACAC Championships

The Bahamas men’s 4×400-meter (m) relay team closed things out on a high note for the country on Sunday night, as the 2018 North American Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) came to an end in Toronto, Canada.

The team, made up by O’Jay Ferguson, Teray Smith, Michael Mathieu and Alonzo Russell, crossed the line second in the event final in 3:03.80. The United States won the race in 3:00.60, while Cuba was third in 3:04.11.

Also on Sunday, Tynia Gaither was sixth in the women’s 200m final in 23.41 seconds.

Donald Thomas picked up the country’s first medal at the games on Saturday in the men’s high jump with a leap of 2.28m.

Jamal Wilson was finished fifth in the men’s high jump with a mark of 2.22 meters. Also on the field, Bianca Stuart was sixth overall in the women’s long jump with a leap of 6.09m.

On the track, Devynne Charlton was fifth in the 100m hurdles in 13.01 seconds, Alonzo Russell came sixth in the men’s 400 in 46.26 seconds and Warren Fraser was sixth in the men’s 100 in 10.26 seconds.
