Two stabbing incidents within the span of four hours in New Providence, sent police on an island-wide manhunt for the culprits responsible for the country’s latest murders.
The first incident occurred during the early evening hours on Friday, police said.
A domestic dispute reportedly turned deadly, when an altercation sparked between a female and a male shortly before 6:00 p.m. yesterday.
The dispute, which police said occurred on Malcolm Road off Baillou Hill Road, resulted in the female being stabbed by the man.
Police confirmed that the victim was transported to the hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Just four hours later, police said they were called to Potter’s Cay Dock to investigate another crime scene.
Police reports indicate that shortly after 10:00 p.m. last evening, an altercation between a group of persons turned deadly.
One man was reportedly stabbed multiple times during that dispute, police said.
Paramedics were called to the scene, however, they were unable to successfully revive the victim and he was pronounced dead.
Police investigations into both stabbing incidents are ongoing.
Armed Robbery In GB
Police on Grand Bahama are also busy investigating an armed robbery which took place early Saturday morning.
According to police, two men – both wearing black hoodies, entered a business establishment on East Sunrise Highway, shortly after 2:00 a.m.
The men reportedly entered the establishment carrying firearms.
Police reports reveal the men robbed the establishment of an undetermined amount of cash.
The duo also robbed workers of personal items, police said.
Authorities confirmed that the culprits escaped successfully on foot.
While police said they have one man in custody, who is assisting with investigations into this incident, authorities are appealing to the general public for any additional information that might assist them in solving this crime.
