Man shot and killed in Nassau Village

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — A man believed to be in his mid-20s was gunned down shortly after 8pm yesterday on Forbes Street, Nassau Village, according to reports.

Police said a small vehicle was “combing” the area and stopped at the intersection of Forbes Street and Lawson Avenue.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a man exited the vehicle and opened fire in the direction of the victim.

EMS was called but the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The latest incident follows a slate of killings in the capital in recent days.

Police Press Liaison Officer ASP Audley Peters said there was no initial information to indicate this latest killing is connected to any of the recent murders.

Peters said: “There’s no information to suggest that this incident is gang-related.”

Police appealed to members of the public who may have information on the matter to contact them.
