Sister wants answers

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Shenique Ford is seeking justice for her brother after he was allegedly knocked over by a vehicle and stabbed on Saturday night.

According to Ford, her brother, 25-year-old Alex Ford had just left a restaurant with a friend on a moped. She said as he was riding along Bay Street, a motorist in a blue vehicle allegedly crept up behind him, ran him over, and after reportedly exchanging words, the motorist began to stab her brother about the body.

Ford said it was at this point that her brother began to bleed excessively. She explained that her brother’s friend made attempts to stop the blood from gushing from his chest and luckily an ambulance was in the vicinity of the incident.

“I really want to thank his friend because if it wasn’t for his friend then my brother might have been dead,” Ford said.

The concerned relative said doctors explained that her brother was stabbed just a few inches from his heart and one of his lungs had been punctured.

Alex Ford remains hospitalized and is currently listed in critical condition.

Ford said she is now seeking justice for her brother.

“Why did you do this to my brother? I know God say to love everyone, but whoever did this, justice has to be served,” Ford said.

“Turn yourself in, please, because if he had done it to you I would have made him turn himself in.”

Meanwhile a statement released by police on Sunday night said they are seeking the public’s assistance with any information that could assist in their investigation.

According to police reports, it was shortly after 10:00p.m., when police responded to Bay Street and Elizabeth Avenue after receiving reports of a male lying in the street with injuries. The male was transported to hospital.

Police said investigations are ongoing.
