Man killed in gun violence, six clinging to life

One man is dead and six others are fighting for their lives in hospital after they were shot in three separate incidents over the weekend, according to police.

The latest incident took place shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Investigators said the victim was walking on Augusta street, when he was approached by an armed man who shot him before running way. The victim was rushed to hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

A few hours earlier around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, police said a group of men was standing outside a residence on Jumbey Street off Windsor Place, when the men were approached by an armed robber, who opened fire.

According to police, four of the men were shot and were rushed to hospital, where they are listed in serious condition.

 

Abaco man murdered

Finally, around 9:00 p.m. Friday, Abaco police said they were called to an area off Charles Sawyer Highway after gunshots were heard. Officers said when they arrived on the scene, they discovered the lifeless body of a man with a gunshot to the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

While police have not issued an official identification, Eyewitness News understands the victim is Perez Dames.
