Man charged with illegal gun possession

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Quincy Lee Smith, 36, of Lake Howell, Florida was brought before Magistrate Carolyn Evans on Friday,  January 25. He was charged with three counts of conspiracy to import illegal firearms into The Bahamas.

It is alleged that Smith and others agreed to import a number of illegal Taurus pistols into the country back in 2017 on March 7; August 14, 15 and 2; July 9 and December 22.

Smith pleaded not guilty to all charges and bail was denied. He was remanded to The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until his case is heard on May 20 – 24, 2019.

The defendant, who is being represented by attorney Keith Seymour, opted for his case to be tried in the magistrate’s court.
