Man allegedly hangs himself in closet

Police were called to Blue Hills Heights late Friday to investigate an alleged suicide.

According to reports, a man said to be in his 40s, was found hanging in the closet of his home shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Mastic Street, Blue Hill Heights.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to the scene but were unable to revive him, police said.

Superintendent Anton Rahming from the Central Detective Unit (CDU) was on the scene and said that while the victim’s family expressed that there were signs to suggest that something might have been wrong, no motive has been given for the cause of death.

Investigations are said to be ongoing.
