Local business vandalized with hate speech

NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS- Police are investigating an act of vandalism a bar on Balfour Avenue early this morning, Eyewitness News can confirm.

Video circulating on social media depicts graffiti written across one of the walls of the building and a broken window.

The text reads: “You hate Haitians, we hate you too”.

While Chief Superintendent Solomon Cash told Eyewitness News that he was not aware of the video at the time, he committed to launching an investigation into the matter.

This comes as activists express concerns over the rising tensions between Bahamians and Haitian migrants displaced by Hurricane Dorian.
