Jones commits to Texas

Highly touted prospect, Kai Jones yesterday committed to play collegiate basketball for the University of Texas.

Jones will join the Longhorns in the fall of 2019.

“I made the decision based on the way the college valued my skill set, and also for the environment and the coaching staff,” Jones said in an interview with Eyewitness News Sports.

“I’m looking forward to joining the team next fall. To prepare myself for that next level, I plan to spend this season working on my body. I want to be as strong as I can be before I begin my collegiate career. Also, I want to improve all aspects of my game. Inside, outside, defence, and also being a playmaker.”

Jones will spend this season at the Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, United States.

ESPN rates Jones a 4-star prospect and the No. 26 centre in the nation for the 2019 class.
