The Junkanoo Corporation New Providence Ltd. (JCNP) is gearing up for Junkanoo Jam, a showcase of Junkanoo groups that will take place each month until December.
Junkanoo Jam marks the official beginning of the Junkanoo season.
During a press conference Wednesday, JNCP Chairman Silbert Ferguson said, the organisation is excited about the event and encouraged Bahamians to come out and enjoy the celebrations.
The JNCP is also now accepting Junkanoo judge applications for the Boxing Day and New Year’s Day parades. Application forms can be obtained from the JCNP office on Frederick Street or from the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture.
Deadline for submissions is September 14.
Returning sponsor of the festivities is Bahamian beer Kalik.
Kalik brand representative Adrian Wildgoose expressed his excitement for the partnership and said the company is looking forward to the festivities.
