Thirty illegal migrants were apprehended yesterday after several homes in the ‘Haitian Village’ on Joe Farrington Road was searched.
According to reports, shortly after 7:00 a.m., officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and Bahamas Immigration Department, acting on information, searched a number of homes in the “Haitian Village” on Joe Farrington Road and recovered a .40 millimeter pistol, a 12 gauge shotgun, 95 rounds of .40 ammunition and 45 rounds of shotgun ammunition and a 11 pounds of marijuana.
Two adult males were also taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged at a later date.
DRUG SEZIURE – CAT ISLAND
Shortly after 9:00 a.m. yesterday, Cat Island Division officers acting on information, while at the dock in Smith’s Bay, conducted a search of a male, and recovered from his bag, a package containing one pound of marijuana. The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to be transported to New Providence later today.
Investigations are ongoing.
