Bastian: Foundation will always push to ensure every child has the tools needed for their education

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — As students across the country prepare to head back to the classrooms, the IL Cares Foundation decided to combine a back to school charitable event with a little fun and excitement.

Thousands of people flooded to the R. M. Bailey Park last Saturday for free school supplies, including books, backpacks and necessary school equipment, but according to IL Cares Marketing Manager Michelle Fox, it wouldn’t be an IL Cares event without entertainment.

“So, the kids were treated to face painting, free video games, carnival rides, rock climbing, stilt walkers and even a dance off between Spiderman and Island Luck CEO Sebas Bastian,” Fox said.

“But the treats didn’t end there. There was also free pizza, ice cream cones and surprise visits from cartoon favorites. Bastian said it is always gratifying to give back to the community and put smiles on the faces of the children.

He added that the IL Cares Foundation will always push to ensure that every child in The Bahamas has the tools they need in order to receive an education.
