ABACO, BAHAMAS – The season of giving continues as Combustion Music prepares to return to idyllic Hope Town, Dec. 7 – 9, for the fifth year of the Combustion Music Hope Town Music Festival. Proceeds from the festival will go towards three charities in the Abacos, including the Hope Town Fire and Rescue Department, Every Child Counts and Friends of the Environment.
The festival, which was founded in 2013 by Chris Farren, founder and president of Combustion Music, was created for several reasons. “It was my goal to introduce many of my songwriter friends to this special island that my family and I have grown to love over the past 15 years and to introduce Hope Town and its residents to the incredible musical talent of these writers, and finally, most importantly, to raise a bunch of money for some very worthy charities,” said Farren.
For three days, attendees will be treated to live music with a spectacular backdrop at four venues, including:
- December 7 – Hope Town Harbour Lodge at 8:00 p.m.
- December 8 – Harbour’s Edge at 8:00 p.m.
- December 9 – Abaco Inn at 1:00 p.m.
- December 9 – Hope Town Inn & Marina at 8:00 p.m.
Live music will be provided by some of the top songwriters in the United States, including Ashley Gorley, Chris Destefano, Jameson Rodgers, Chris Farren, Jessica Farren, Jon Nite, Brent Anderson, Kendell Marvel, Hunter Phelps, Charles Esten, Smith Ahnquist and Brett James.
Wynsome Ferguson, Manager of the Abaco Tourist Office, said the benefits of this festival are felt throughout the island of Abaco.
“The Hope Town Music Festival has become a staple event on the calendar of events for the island of Abaco. The settlement of Hope Town, and by extension, the island, benefits tremendously during this three-day period with hotels and rental homes showing strong bookings. There are also no golf carts available during this time, on Hope Town,” Ferguson said.
This event also speaks to the diversity of events held on the island, according to Ferguson.
“The event is an enhancement to the Abaco product in terms of showcasing first class and different types of events that attract visitors to the destination. In addition, it’s another dynamic feature to the overall visitor experience.”
Combustion Music first opened its doors in 2001 as an independent publishing/production company. Chris Farren envisioned a company that encompassed all facets of the music industry, in all genres, allowing artists, songwriters, managers, producers and publishers to interact daily – both creatively and with the sharing of information.
