NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Haitian national was arraigned in the magistrate’s court on Wednesday, charged with overstaying.
Arius Philippe appeared before Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.
Philippe was convicted of overstaying and was fined $3000.00 or in default of payment, he would serve one-year imprisonment at The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services. Upon serving his sentence, he would be turned over to the Department of Immigration for deportation.
Philippe of Port-de-Paix, Haiti was arrested in Eleuthera on March 13, 2019.
