The government has allocated $25 million over the next five years to promote small and medium-sized businesses to encourage entrepreneurship and boost employment.

Finance Minister Peter Turnquest said the government is keen on offering assistance to new businesses that Bahamians have yet to tap into.

Turnquest said he is encouraging potential business owners to take the plunge as the government stands ready, waiting to offer much-needed capital.
