Female suspect assisting police with investigation
FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA – Police in the nation’s second city are investigating a fire that engulfed a building on Carvel Beach on Wednesday.
According to police reports, shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, Police Fire Services assisted by the Grand Bahama Airport Fire Services, were called to Rachel’s Britannia Mini Mall in the Caravel Beach area where they met the multi-business complex engulfed in flames.
Police said the structure is valued at $800,000 and arson is suspected in this matter.
Police have in custody a female suspect who is assisting them with their investigation.
