NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Howard Rolle, 50, of Mangrove Cay, Andros; 35-year-old Pizzario Brennen of Bimini, and 37-year-old Clyde Dawkins of Andros, stood before deputy chief magistrate Subusola Swain on Wednesday, in connection with several drug-related charges.
All three men were charged with the possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply, conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs with the intent to supply, importation of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply, and the conspiracy to import dangerous drugs.
According to police reports, on May 3, 2019, officers seized 1,627 pounds of suspected marijuana, with an estimated street value of 1.6 million dollars, in waters off South Andros.
All three defendants pleaded not guilty and were denied bail.
The men were remanded to The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until August 21stfor trial.
Shortly after this arraignment, 25-year-old Sergio Etman, who is a Surinamese national, was also charged before Deputy Chief Magistrate Swain for attempting to smuggle 1.8 pounds of cocaine through the Lynden Pindling International Airport.
Etman pleaded not guilty to possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply, conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs with the intent to supply, and conspiracy to import dangerous drugs.
However, he pleaded guilty to the charge of importation of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply
Etman was denied bail and has been remanded to The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until May 17thfor trial.
