Four arraigned for murder

Three men were arraigned in Magistrate Court Thursday in connection of two separate murders.

Omar Thompson, 23, of Gibbs Corner, Kelvin Deveaux, 22, of Wilson Tract, and Delando Fawkes, 22, of Marathon, appeared before Magistrate Subusola Swain and were charged with the murder of Ernest Davis.

Thompson, Deveaux, and Fawkes were not allowed to enter a plea and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections (BDOC) until October 10, when they are set to stand trial.

Jameine Bethel, 22, of Fox Hill, also stood before Magistrate Subusola Swain court yesterday for the murder of Javon McDonald.

According to police, shortly before 5:00 a.m. back on August 4, police were called to Abner Street, Fox Hill, after gunshots were heard coming from a residence. Officers said they discovered an adult male lying on the floor of his home with visible gunshot wounds to his body. Paramedics visited the scene but were unable to revive the male and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Bethel was not allowed to enter a plea to the charge and was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections (BDOC) until October 16, when he is set to stand trial.
