NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Mario Brown, 28, in the red and blue jacket; Ricardo Mitchell, in the blue shirt; Keno McKenzie, in the white T-shirt and blue jeans and Walleck Medureck, in the black sweater, all appeared before Magistrate Cara Turnquest-Deveaux on Monday, charged with separate counts of murder.
Brown was charged with the murder of Jamaal kemp on Sunday, February 10, 2019.
According to reports, Kemp was standing in front of a stall on Potter’s Cay Dock when he was approached by a gunman who shot him multiple times before fleeing the area on foot.
Kemp died on the scene.
Mitchell and McKenzie were both charged with the February 10, 2019 murder of Daniel Sterling and Ferdinand Agenor.
Sterling was in front of a business establishment on Washington Street when he was approached by a male who shot him before speeding away in a silver vehicle.
Police say Agenor was standing in front of a business establishment on Robinson Road when he was approached by a man armed with a firearm, who shot him before speeding off.
Agenor also died on the scene.
Mitchell and McKenzie were also charged on Monday with the attempted murder of Anwar Smith on February 9, 2019.
McKenzie was separately charged with causing grievous harm on October 28, 2018, and Mitchell was also charged with causing grievous harm on May 13 of last year.
The men pleaded not guilty to the grievous harm charges.
Finally, 33-year-old Walleck Medureck was charged with the February 9, 2019 murder of Presentus Xavier and the attempted murder of Sidney St. Arnold.
Police say shortly after 1:00 a.m., a group of Haitian nationals were hosting a party in a Haitian village off Cowpen Road, when two men came from the bushes firing shots. Two men were shot and Xavier died on the scene while St Arnold was taken to hospital.
The men were not required to enter a plea to the murder charges and were all denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until April 12 for the service of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment.
