Elite 24 camp offering full ride to UB for MVP

This year’s edition of the Buddy Hield Elite 24 comes with a special prize, a full athletic scholarship to The University of The Bahamas.

University of The Bahamas President Dr. Rodney Smith made the announcement about the reward for the camp’s Most Valuable Players earlier today.

The Elite 24 camp features 24 of the top high school boys’ players in the country and will run for a week at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.

“We will be supporting the clinic by providing the services of its sports medicine team headed by Sasha Johnson. We are most excited about offering a full scholarship, inclusive of a book award and a meal plan. We are creating a campus that is more diverse and developing a robust sporting program. We have to attract top potential,” Smith said.

Hield added: “Knowing that a kid can benefit from a full ride is important. It saves them finances, and shows them the importance of discipline at the same time.

The week-long camp will be highlighted by Break Out 24 Family Fun Day 1pm to 6pm on July 27 at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.

The day will feature the Elite 24 game, the KFC 3-Point Shootout (featuring Hield) and the Rev/Aliv Rock the Rim competition.
