Eleuthera residents win land

A victory for residents in Eleuthera who on Monday had their land returned to them through a ruling by the Privy Council.

In the judgement, the appellants – Bannerman Town, Millars and John Millars Eleuthera Association – had more than 2,000 acres of land returned, which Eleuthera Properties Limited has had in its possession for years.

Eleuthera Properties Limited is led by businessman, Sir Franklyn Wilson.

The court determined that Eleuthera Properties Limited, as well as the appellants, were unable to prove title for the property and subsequently ruled that no party should be granted a certificate of title.
