NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The parents of a three-year-old toddler were killed on Monday morning, following an alleged retaliation shooting on the grounds of the Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre on Fox Hill Road.

Up to press time last night, police did not release the identity of the victims, but family members have confirmed to Eyewitness News that the male is George Neil Deveaux and the female is Ashlee Hilton.

According to reports, shortly after 10:00 a.m., a man and woman were leaving the Sandilands property in a white vehicle when they were approached by two armed men who exited a black jeep and opened fire on their vehicle. The men got back into their vehicle and sped away.

Paramedics visited the scene and attempted to revive the victims, but they were unsuccessful.

Chief Superintendent of Police Solomon Cash said the police will be examining surveillance footage to assist with their investigation. He also asked the public to alert the police by calling 911 or 919 if they have any information.

“We don’t suspect that this incident has anything to do with Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre. We believe he came to do therapy,” Supt. Cash said.

Sandilands was placed on lockdown for some two hours following yesterday’s murder.

Family members also confirmed that Deveaux was at Sandilands to receive physical therapy for his leg after he was involved in a shooting incident earlier this year.

Deveaux was known to police.

He was one of four men charged with the murder of 19-year-old Glen Fulford in October 2005.
