Defence force officer set free for double fatality

Christin Reckley is a free woman after paying a $20,000 fine to the courts and released from The Bahamas Department of Corrections (BDOC).

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) marine was fined as her punishment for the September 16 killing of Stevan Devallon and Maude Augustin.

Reckley struck and killed the brother and sister as she drove an uninsured vehicle in Marathon Road area. She was charged last week with the killings and was remanded to the BDOC for seven days.

After sentencing, Reckley apologised to the victims’ relatives and pleaded for their forgiveness.
