Dangerous drugs and illegal firearm recovered

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Royal Bahamas Police Force, with assistance from the public, successfully recovered an illegal firearm and a number of dangerous drugs from the streets of New Providence on Saturday.

According to police reports, shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, Anti-Gang and Firearms Unit officers, with the assistance of K-9 officers, acting on information, conducted a search of a vacant lot on  East Street and Bahama Avenue where they recovered a .40 pistol, seven rounds of ammunition and a quantity of suspected marijuana.

Two men were taken into custody for questioning.
