NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Lanisha T. Rolle and Executive Director of Culture, Rowena Poitier-Sutherland joined Junkanoo participants, sponsors and stakeholders at the Junkanoo Corporation of New Providence (JCNP) Limited’s Annual Junkanoo Awards Banquet at the British Colonial Hilton, on March 2, 2019.
Rolle also brought remarks that night, where she applauded the Junkanooers and stakeholders for the role they played in Bahamian culture. The event was an opportunity to recognize and present trophies and plaques to awardees in the 2018 Boxing Day and 2019 New Year’s Day Parades, as well as recognize sponsors, the Minister, and JCNP Chairman, Silbert Ferguson.
