Man killed in industrial accident; illegal firearms seized
Both illegal firearms were recovered after polic ereceived annonymous tips on their location. Anyone with information on a any investigation is urged to anonymously call the police at 919 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8477 (Family Islands).

One man is dead after succumbing to injuries he received while at work.

According to police, shortly after 2:00 p.m. yesterday, two male employees of a block plant located at a General Hardware Store on Wulff Road, were cleaning on the inside of a cement mixing machine when it is reported that it automatically turned on.

One of the men sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital via ambulance. A short time later, he was pronounced dead.

Investigations are ongoing.

 

FOUR IN CUSTODY AFTER FIREARM SEIZURE

Police also removed two illegal firearms from the streets of New Providence on Monday in two separate incidents.

The first occurred shortly before 3:00 a.m., Flying Squad officers – acting on information – went to the parking lot of a business establishment on Nassau Street, where they conducted a search of three men and a vehicle. As a result officers recovered a .380 Pistol, which contained six rounds of ammunition. The men were taken into custody. A lengthier search revealed another 12 rounds of ammunition.

The men are expected to be formally charged before court later this week.

In the second incident, shortly after 7:00am, Flying Squad Officers conducted a search of a home on Fire trail Road and recovered a. 357 Revolver containing five rounds of ammunition.

An adult male was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged before court later this week.
