Community supports upcoming UBFIT road race this Saturday, April 6

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A press conference was recently held to announce the upcoming third annual UBFIT Nassau Fun Run Walk Bike Skate 5K/10K on Saturday, 6th April 2019.

With more than 600 expected participants, the event brings the UB community, alumni and friends of the University together to promote health and wellness. Funds raised are directed to UB’s Annual Fund to meet the highest goals and objectives and are also earmarked for special needs mobility on UB’s campus.

To date, UBFIT has raised just under $100,000 in sponsorships through registration fees and generous in-kind donations. During the press conference UB President Dr. Rodney D.  Smith expressed his gratitude to Generali for their partnership, “We are grateful for the continued support of all our corporate sponsors, especially Generali Worldwide, who have joined us today. Like us, Generali is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and fitness through regular exercise among our population. We are extremely pleased that they have once again committed to being our title sponsor.”

Generali Worldwide, the title sponsor for three consecutive years shared why the organization supported this initial race and pledged a three-year commitment. Generali Worldwide Business Development Manager, Mrs. Sherelle R.
