Former Western Kentucky University (WKU) Hilltopper Dwight Coleby got on the floor for the first time as a member of the New Orleans Pelicans National Basketball Association (NBA) Summer League team on Friday night in Las Vegas.

In his first showing, Coleby scored six points in the game, two of them coming on a wild buzzer-beating shot at the half. He also grabbed five rebounds and came up with a steal in 11 minutes of action.

Coleby is the first Hilltopper since former WKU guard T.J. Price, to compete in the NBA Summer League immediately after graduating.

The 6-foot-9 native of Nassau, Bahamas, played in all 38 games for the Hilltoppers in 2017-2018 and made 37 starts after coming to WKU as a graduate transfer from Kansas.

Coleby averaged 11.1 points and eight rebounds per game, while shooting 59.8 per cent from the field and 75 per cent from the free-throw line.
