Chisholm named Diamondbacks MILB player of the year

Jasrado Chisholm this week was named as the Arizona Diamondbacks minor league player of the year.

Chisholm saw his stock rise the majority of the season, and as a result, he was promoted to High-A Visalia.

He finished the season with a batting average of .272, with 25 home runs and 70 RBI’s.

“It feels great. It shows that all the hard work pays off,” Chisholm said about the award.

“Just like everybody said, if you work hard, it will pay off someday. That was the reward this year. I worked extremely hard this year. I got to where I am now.”

The 5’11” heavy hitter started off the season with the Single-A Kane County Cougars. He hit .244 with 15 home runs and 40 Runs Batted In.

Chisholm led all Diamondbacks minor league players in home runs, and ranked among the leaders in runs (third), triples (T-fifth), RBIs (7th), slg (eighth) and walks (T-ninth).
