Carey signs with top tier Mexican club

Former Wagner University standout Michael Carey will be continuing his professional basketball career with the Huracanes de Tampico club in the 1st tier Mexican league, Liga de Baloncesto Profesional.

Carey spent most of the summer playing with The Bahamas men’s basketball team.  He averaged 16 points, 5.5 assists and four rebounds over the course of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Cup Qualification process.

As a senior at Wagner, Carey averaged 13.8 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
