Burrows leads FOS Provence to LNB semifinals
Jarauan “Kino” Burrows.

Jarauan “Kino” Burrows continues to be a force on the court despite climbing up the ladder in age.

At 33, Burrows averaged 8.5 points and three rebounds on 50 per cent shooting from the field in two games against Nancy Basket.

Burrows had 11 points and five rebounds in a 73-60 win to close out the series on Sunday. Edouard Choquet led the way for FOS Provence with 16 points, four assists and three rebounds. Behind Burrows and forward Tariq Kirksay, FOS outrebounded Nancy Basket 34-29. Provence’s ball movement also proved to be key in the win, as it edged Nancy 23-15 in assists.

In the opening game, Burrows had six points and one rebounds in 21 minutes of action.

Burrows is in the midst of his second stint with the team. He averaged 13 points and five rebounds over the course of the season.

According to Burrows, he’s grateful that he made the decision to return to Provence this season.

“I studied the different offers that came this summer, some of which came from Pro B. I really enjoyed the end of last season with FOS,” Burrows said.

“The climate is also good, and I felt good with the club, but above all, I get on well with the coach, Rémi Giuitta. I love playing for him, and when we got together in early July to talk and he told me he wanted me back this season, I felt it was the best situation for me. I knew he was going to make me work hard and push me to the limit so I could continue to excel. It was the best thing for my career.”

FOS Provence Basket play in the Pro B Division of the National Basketball League (LNB) in France. Burrows said despite getting off to a 4-4 start, the team is in a good position.

He said that the level of competition is so high that it’s crucial that everyone is locked in to play every night, as anything less would be unacceptable.
