Jauran “Kino” Burrows helped power FOS Provence to a 76-70 win over Roanne yesterday, as his team was promoted to LNB Pro A.

Provence spent the past several years at the Pro B level, but will now compete at the highest level of the French pro league.

Burrows scored 12 points in the final contest and averaged just over 8 points over the course of the team’s playoff run.

In Burrows’ second stint with the team, he averaged 12 points and seven rebounds during the regular season.

Burrows said he considered leaving the team when his contract expired last summer but elected to rejoin FOS due to the coaching he received during his time with the team.

“I studied the different offers that came this summer, some of which came from Pro B. I really enjoyed the end of last season with Fos,” Burrows said.

“The climate is also good, and I felt good with the club. But above all, I get on well with the coach, Rémi Giuitta. I love playing for him, and when we got together in early July to talk and he told me he wanted me back this season, I felt it was the best situation for me.”

In 12 games last season, Burrows averaged 10.7 points, four rebounds and three assists in just over 25 minutes per game.

He helped the club to the league’s semifinals.

The 31-year-old veteran joined Provence Basket in mid-April and made an instant impact when he finished with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists in his debut.
