Buddy Hield scores career high

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Buddy Hield continued on his hot streak on Wednesday night. Despite the Sacramento Kings falling 132-113 to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Hield poured in a career-high 37 points. He also had six rebounds and three assists in the game.

Although the game was never close, it was Hield’s fifth consecutive game with 20 or more, and the eighth time in December.

“I’ve been flirting with 27, 28 for a while,” Hield said after the game. “I just knew I needed to be aggressive for my team tonight, being three of our major guys.”

Hield has made great strides in his third year.

He’s averaging 19 points, five rebounds, and nearly three assists, which is a significant improvement, seeing that he averaged less than two assists the past two seasons.

The Kings managed to get within eight late in the third quarter, but the Thunder withstood the charge thanks to big-time performances from their two biggest stars.

Paul George scored 43 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. Russell Westbrook had 19 points, 17 assists and 11 rebounds. Hield made 11 of 25 field-goal attempts and 7 of 14 from 3-point range to eclipse his previous career high of 30 points.

De’Aaron Fox had 28 points and 12 assists for the Kings, who have lost three of their last four.
