NASSAU, BAHAMASBTC hosted over 70 aspiring entrepreneurs at its annual Junior Achievement Future Leaders Seminar held under the theme, “Cultivating the Right Leaders”.

In his opening remarks, BTC’s CEO, Garfield Sinclair proudly noted that BTC remains committed and rooted in community, and has played an integral role in Junior Achievement since its inception 40 years ago.

“It takes a village to raise a child, and we are happy to say that more than 2,000 students have benefitted from BTC’s partnership with the JA Bahamas organization since 1979. We are also grateful for our own team members that have invested their time and talent in helping to shape the future leaders in our society,” Sinclair said.

Sinclair continued, “I encourage you to maximize the opportunities afforded to you through this program. You can get a strong sense of what it is like to run a business. As young minds, you should all aspire to be a leader, and leadership is fundamental in entrepreneurship. No longer should you be preparing for a job when you leave school or college. Rather, you should be using programs like Junior Achievement to prepare you to lead and manage your own businesses in the near future.”

Students from the Commonwealth Bank, Baha Mar and Deloitte & Touche Junior Achievement companies also participated in this event.

Other speakers for the day included Alexander Hepburn who spoke on the topic “The Law of Attraction”; Gregory Collie, Proprietor of the Cookie Caterer who shared on “Cultivating the Mind of and Entrepreneur” and Jasonette Davis who shared on the topic, “Cultivating Self Love and Respect”.

Through volunteerism, providing a safe space and a creative haven for achievers, BTC continues to demonstrate its commitment to the development of the future leaders of The Bahamas.

In addition to “BTC CTRL” (Cultivating the Right Leaders), BTC also invests in another JA company in Grand Bahama, “BTC B.O.S.S” (Bold Outstanding Successful Students).
