BREAKING NEWS: Unemployment rose to 10.7%

Unemployment nationally rose from 10 per cent in May 2018 to 10.7 per cent in November 2018, according to data released by the Department of Statistics.

According to the latest Labor Force Survey, which was released today, 2,305 jobs were created during the six-month period, however, 4,250 people joined the labor force, meaning job seekers exceeded jobs created.

While the rate of unemployment in New Providence rose to 11 per cent; unemployment declined in Grand Bahama and Abaco to 11.9 percent and 7.7 per cent respectively.
