NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Bahamas International Securities Exchange (BISX), affiliate member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), and RF Bank & Trust (RF) have partnered to participate in World Investor Week (WIW) during the week of October 18, 2021.
To commemorate WIW locally, BISX and RF will present a week of resources for new and aspiring investors. The global campaign led by IOSCO seeks to promote action that enables investor education and protection across six continents.
During the week, key messages will be disseminated that promote financial concepts and learning about investment risks, as well as investment fraud prevention. BISX and RF will host panel discussions, answer questions through digital and radio forums and provide numerous resources for Bahamians interested in investing.
Chief Executive Officer of BISX Keith Davies stated: “Just as medical information and education assists us with being physically healthy, investment information and education assists us with being financially healthy.
“Therefore, we thought it was vitally important for BISX to participate in World Investor Week and to partner with RF Bank & Trust to enhance and expand the level of financial literacy throughout The Bahamas.
“For BISX, investor education is foundational to building a strong investor base that ultimately allows your capital market to grow and flourish, so we will continue to do our part to ensure that current and future investors are fully equipped to make informed investment decisions.”
An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. Common terms and concepts used in the investment industry will be explained through lively posts, Bahamian influencer messages and videos, the objective being to deconstruct the jargon and create a forum where the public feels comfortable joining in the discussion about investing.

“Investor education, particularly for the youth, is the only way we can hope to build a culture of financial literacy, which has never been more important. The Bahamas World Investor Week celebrations, dubbed “Invest Well, Live Well”, will take place between Monday, October 18, 2021, and Friday, October 22, 2021.
