Bahamian artist makes Brazilian TV debut
Bahamian gospel artist Dominique Forbes debuts on Brazilian TV stations.

Update: Rebroadcasts set for January 5 and 6, 2022

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — A local musical artist and writer who has been steadily making a name for herself around the globe has achieved a major milestone as her music and poetry made an international TV debut yesterday.

Dominique Forbes is a Bahamian gospel artist whose songs have inspired thousands of listeners and whose two published books have resonated with readers worldwide.

Yesterday, her song “Sleep On (Remix Island Style)” and my poetry book “Mamma, Do You Love Me?” premiered on Brazilian TV station Estilo De Jogo; and if you missed it, don’t worry — you’ll have a chance to catch it again tonight, December 30, at 9.30pm at www.estilodejogo.com or www.vvb.tv.br.

Additionally, further rebroadcasts are scheduled in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Wednesday, January 5, at 9.30pm (7.30pm local time) and 9.35pm (7.35pm local time); and Thursday, January 6, at 10pm (8pm local time) and 10.05pm (8.05pm local time) via www.estilodejogo.com.

“Sleep On (Remix Island Style)” is an uplifting song with a heartfelt message. It is dedicated to the memory of Forbes’ cousin, Devon Brown, who was killed in October 2020.

The artist said the idea to create the song came to her shortly after Brown’s death, and it is “intended to be a biblically-based song that simultaneously grabs and maintains the attention of the listeners all around the world, especially those who reside in the inner-city such as the community of Bain and Grants Town, where my cousin’s memory lives on today”.

Meanwhile, her poetry book “Mamma, Do You Love Me?” is one meant to heal relationships between “mothers and daughters, mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law as well as between mothers and sons”.

The book features three characters and themes such as life, death, reconciliation, social and spiritual abuse and comradery, but comes together under the banner of love.

Forbes’ books can be found on Amazon, while her music can be found on Spotify, iTunes and Youtube, where many of her music videos can also be seen: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX9w32v-EV3hrf3uXNZ_wQA.
