NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Bahamas Charter Yacht Show (BCYS) Committee yesterday announced that the 2021 Bahamas Charter Yacht Show scheduled for late February 2021 has been postponed until 2022.

The 2021 Bahamas Charter Yacht Show’s chairman, Joe Dargavage, of Romora Bay Resort and Marina, said: “This was an extremely difficult decision, and our charter show board thought long and hard before deciding what we should do.

“The fact that we had almost all brokers having to come in internationally was a huge part of the decision-making process.

“Once the decision was made, Rybovich (West Palm Beach, Florida) proposed that we invite the yachts to their facility and showcase them under a controlled environment. The Bahamas Charter Yacht Show’s board found this to be a great solution that would allow the ABM (Association of Bahamas Marinas) to continue their marketing efforts to re-open yachting in The Bahamas.”

The BCYS is comprised of a partnership with the Association of Bahamas Marinas, Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (MOTA) and the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA).

BCYS representatives will be on hand at the IYBA charter and broker’s open house events during 2021 to give updates on The Bahamas and stimulate interest in the 2022 event in Nassau.

On February 25 and 26, 2021, there will be a gathering of charter yachts at Rybovich Superyacht Marina in West Palm Beach with the goal of showcasing charter yachts to the charter brokers of the industry. Representatives from ABM and MOTA will be on hand to share itineraries and present the islands and marinas that cater to the yacht charter industry.

Yachts and top brokers will be treated to a Bahamian theme for the two-day event, whose purpose is to celebrate the charter yachts that travel to The Bahamas and educate the international brokerage community about the boundless charter opportunities and up-to-date travel information from around The Bahamas.
