The Bahamas and the United States made new strides in the fight against narcotics and illegal activity between its borders Wednesday, as the two countries signed a modification to the existing letter of agreement on narcotics control and law enforcement between both countries.

Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis, Minister of Foreign Affairs Darren Henfield and the United States Embassy Charge D’Affairs Stephanie Bowers, were present for the signing.

The amendment makes way for technical support, training, equipment and support for anti-corruption to the tune of $1.4 million.

The programme has been in place for the past eight years and The Bahamas has received some $14 million in foreign assistance to date.
