The Bahamas AIDS Foundation (BAF) is set to host the first annual Red Tee Charity Golf Tournament.

The action is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Royal Blue Golf Course at the Baha Mar Resort.

The single-day tournament features a two-man scramble format and will serve as a fundraiser for the foundation. Some of the proceeds will also assist with funding for the foundation’s outreach program for children, which currently assists over 80 children.

“I had no clue that it was so much work to put on a golf tournament, but things are coming together well,” said BAF President Lady Camille Barnett.

“We have over 50 golfers confirmed so far and expect to have at least 60 by the time we tee off. So, we are really excited about that.”

While the tournament supports the work of the foundation, players will have an opportunity to compete for great prizes, courtesy of the tournament’s sponsors.

The AIDS Foundation has secured an assortment of ‘Hole in One’ prizes including a 2018 Mercedes Benz, a Vespa motorcycle, a Sea Doo Jet Ski and a golf cart. ‘Hole in One’ sponsors include Tyreflex Star Motors, Shirley Enterprises and Harbourside Marine.

Great prizes also await the first, second and third place teams including prizes from John Bull, Comfort Suites, Atlantis and John Watlings. As a special treat, a prize will be awarded to the team that places 26th to acknowledge the 26th year of the formation of the Bahamas AIDS Foundation.

Interested persons can register to play in the Red Tee event by contacting the Bahamas AIDS Foundation by telephone at (242) 325-9326/7 or by e-mail atredteecharitygolf@gmail.com.
