Three Americans appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain yesterday, on charges of failure to declare.

Sid Shah ,43; Umang Shah ,46 and Josue Gil, 36, were charged with making a false declaration to an officer of the United States.

Sid Shah testified that he had won some $47,000 at Baha Mar casino and upon his departure, had split the money with his brother, Umang, and paid Josue Gil 10,000 he claimed he had borrowed.

The trio was caught with $51,355 thousand cash.

The younger Shah said that he was not aware that it was his responsibility to declare the full amount of money at Customs at the time of departure.

All three men pleaded guilty to the charge and the winnings were confiscated. The men were each ordered to pay a $1,000 fine in order to return to the united states.
