During the presentation of Ambassador of Israel to The
Bahamas Zvi Tal’s credentials to the authorities of the
Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the intention to further develop the bilateral relations
was jointly expressed.

In his first official visit, Tal met with Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Philip Davis, along with Alfred
Sears, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs; Michael Darville,
Minister of Health and Wellness; Clay Sweeting, Minister of
 Agriculture and Marine Resources.

In the different meetings, the ambassador and the ministers discussed the possibility of
establishing a common agenda for comprehensive bilateral dialogue.

During his visit, Tal will inaugurate a new humanitarian assistance project,
which consists of procuring and installing hurricane resistant windows at the “Stronger
Together Community Center” in Grand Bahama, a vital aid that will help the Eight Mile
Rock community to withstand future emergencies. The aim is to improve the resistance
of the community in the presence of future hurricanes.

The humanitarian aid was made possible thanks to the efforts of MASHAV, Israel
’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, and through the involvement of
IsraAID, a coalition of Israeli organizations working in disaster relief and international
 development.

It has been the wish of the Embassy of Israel accredited to The Bahamas, to strengthen
the bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as to assist the population in
emergencies throughout social projects.
