The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Peter Turnquest on Sunday, defended the government’s fiscal positioning and told Eyewitness News that it consulted where it thought it was necessary as it relates to its increase in taxes.

The announcement comes as the Minnis administration has been heavily criticized following increases in gaming tax, hospital fees and real property taxes.

Many have lamented that the government made its decisions with little or no consultation with the various stakeholders.
