An early morning traffic accident claimed the life of a young man and left two other women suffering from injuries in western New Providence on Friday.
According to police reports, shortly after 9:00 a.m., a three-car collision occurred on Western Road south of Mount Pleasant Village. An adult male, the driver of the white Mazda vehicle, received serious injuries, police said.
The victim was treated by medical personnel on the scene however, he succumbed to his injuries.
The female drivers of the other two vehicles were transported to hospital and are listed in stable condition.
The deceased has been officially identified as Achintya Garikaparthi, 18, of Blair Estate.
Investigations are said to be ongoing.
