MOH unable to produce COVID-dashboard for Sunday due to circumstances “beyond its control”
NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Bahamas recorded 139 cases of COVID-19 between Friday and Saturday, and four new deaths, with 132 new cases in New Providence, three in Grand Bahama, one in Abaco, one in Exuma and two cases with locations pending
Health officials also confirmed three previous deaths as COVID-19-related.
On Friday, health officials advised of 91 new infections — 85 in New Providence, two in Grand Bahama, one in Abaco, one in Exuma and two cases pending locations.
On Saturday, health officials reported 48 more cases — 47 in New Providence and one in Grand Bahama.
As of Saturday, there were 3,838 cases of the virus.
There were 89 deaths recorded.
On Friday, health officials confirmed the deaths of a 33-year-old man of New Providence on September 19, a 71-year-old woman and 73-year-old man of New Providence on September 24, were as a result of the virus.
Another death recorded on Friday was under investigation.
A death was also recorded and Saturday and being investigated.
There were 13 deaths under investigation as of Saturday.
The COVID-19 dashboard for Saturday was released yesterday around noon.
However, the Ministry of Health advised yesterday that due to circumstances “beyond its control” it will not produce and release the COVID-19 dashboard for Sunday.
It said the next dashboard will be published today.
While the ministry apologized, it did not detail the circumstances beyond its control.
As of Saturday, there were 2,005 recovered cases and 1,717 active cases.
This represents six more recovered cases than Friday.
There were 93 hospitalized cases, up from 87 on Friday.
Over 19,000 tests have been performed, according to officials.
Of the total cases, there have been 2,757 cases in New Providence, 628 in Grand Bahama, 135 in Abaco, 54 in Bimini, 15 in the Berry Islands, eight in Cat Island, 28 in Exuma, 19 in Inagua, 22 in Eleuthera, seven in Acklins, six in Andros, five in Crooked Island, 12 in Long Island, three in Mayaguana, and 139 cases with locations pending.
