Ten men and three women are in police custody after a large number of illegal drugs were recovered near Inagua Friday.
According to reports around 2:00 a.m. yesterday, a joint drug operation conducted by officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, Marine Support Unit and assisted by United States (U.S.) Law Enforcement officers boarded a Haitian vessel in the harbour at Great Inagua, conducted a search of the and recovered nine packages of suspected cocaine.
The drugs weighed 19.8 pounds and have an estimated street value of $135,000.
The 13 were taken into custody and are expected to be arraigned before Magistrate’s Court next week.
